V-MAP FOR LARGE PARTS SCANNING
V-MAP is a limited V-STARS system that only allows for the export of measured coordinates into Triple scanning software to be used as a 3D scanning references system for SIDIO scanners.
V-MAP DynaMo is recommended for users that require the V-MAP technology who would also like to upgrade the V-MAP system to a full operative V-STARS/D touch probe system in the near future. With V-MAP Dynamo, the user has already made part of the investment in a full V-STARS/D system, making an upgrade easier and more convenient.
V-MAP DynaMo has additional advantages over V-MAP Standard, which are:
- Integration of an electronic shutter with infinite shots.
- Faster picture taking thanks to its larger field of view.
- Pictures are directly loaded into the software and processed in parallel.
V-MAP is recommended when the parts to be digitized are larger than a meter or when the accuracy needed for a specific part is too demanding for the working volume of SIDIO that best suits the size of the part. As a rule of thumb, we recommend using V-MAP when the part is larger than three times the size of the chosen working volume.
Two options are offered for the V-MAP system: V-MAP Standard and V-MAP DynaMo.
V-MAP Standard includes a modified Nikon D700 camera plus all the accessories required for measuring targets with photogrammetry. The system comes in one box for easy transport.
V-MAP DynMmo includes one DynaMo camera, which is a lightweight and compact custom-made camera, plus all the accessories needed.
Circular adhesive targets, used as references, are placed on the piece to be measured. The user takes pictures from different points of view, making sure all the references are captured from different angles.
The photogrammetry system processes all the pictures and measures the distance between the centers of the circles with great accuracy of up to 7micron + 7micron/m.
The coordinates of the centers are then imported into Triple software. During the measurement process, SIDIO sensors can recognize the same target centers and automatically place each cloud of points it obtained in the right position with great precision.
