SIDIO AIRUS is a unique plug&play automated 3D scanner that integrates all the equipment necessary to carry out fully-automated 3D digitization and part inspection. SIDIO AIRUS is based on NUB3D’s structured light technology. It represents the ultimate 3D scanning solution for automated optical inspection&quality control needs in production.
In addition to being easy to setup and implement on your shop floor, the SIDIO AIRUS 3D automated scanner boasts a user-friendly interface, which means the operator does not need specific technical skills to use it. Both the robot and the sensor share the same user interface. Utilizing a touch screen panel, the user selects the part to be inspected and then launches the inspection process, which will deliver a complete part inspection report.
Controlling production with 3D digitizing technology capabilities directly on the shop floor enables you to analyze trends and adapt the production process accordingly. Ultimately, defects can be identified earlier in the process, thus reducing scraps, revision campaigns and factory recalls.

A Single Camera – Having a one-camera system reduces the number of overlapping views and allows for a faster configuration of the measurement field.
MWL Technology – NUB3D’s Multi-wavelength technology ensures a strong and adjustable light source so you get the best digitizing results, regardless of the light conditions. While SIDIO systems are based on white light technology, they can easily be switched to color light technology.
XR Technology – Integrating this enhanced pattern-launching technology into the scanning system makes achieving the fastest scanning times possible.
xEDR Technology – This optimized version of the EDR TECHNOLOGY allows for the fastest capture of parts that range in color from black to shiny, without the use of spray and regardless of light conditions.
Self-compensation – Ambient conditions variations do not affect the measurement anymore, thanks to integrated photogrammetric technology
Vibration Control – Vibrations in the environment do not affect the measurement anymore. The SIDIO XR system will automatically repeat the measurement when vibrations occur in the environment.
Hardware Monitoring – Control the status of the system such as lamp hours left, temperature influence.
Touch Screen Control – Designed to allow the operator to have hand in the process thanks to the friendly user interface and intuitive process.
Remote Control Assistance – Unit fully integrated with ABB Patented Remote Service for a retrieval of the system performance data. Root cause is immediately diagnosed and identified to determine how performance issues can be resolved
Fast Learning Curve – Quick customization and very easy to use solution. No specific skills are required. 2 training days are enough to handle and control the full operation of the cell.
High Flexibility – Combined with flexible holding fixtures, the simulator based on RobotStudio® allows easy configuration of new parts using only CAD data and inspection plan.
VDI 2634 certified - The VDI/VDE 2634 Part 2 & 3 certification process can be carried out automatically every X period of time to ensure repeatability and accuracy.
